Melbourne : Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has admitted that he will consider calling curtains on his international career after the World T20 in India while pointing out his desire to assume coaching role in future.
The 34-year-old, who retired from Test cricket following the disastrous Ashes series against England last year, said that he was excited about being a part of the World T20 squad, but insisted that he would think about his international swansong after the conclusion of the T20 format’s pinnacle event.
According to news.com.au, Watson had already turned his mind towards a coaching career after ending his cricketing career which he had started in 2002.
Reflecting on the same, the veteran all-rounder expressed that he would be happy to provide his cricketing experience to the upcoming generation.
Watson, who has appeared in all the five previous T20 World Cups, had already been giving his valuable advice to his teammates about the upcoming challenges in India.
The Steve Smith-led side will start their World T20 campaign when they will take on New Zealand in the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on March 18. (ANI)
