Welfare of poor is our goal: Etala

Finance Minister Eatala Rajender today said the ultimate aim of the TRS government was the welfare of the poor and deprived classes in the State.

Laying foundation stone for the flagship program of double bedroom houses for the poor at Ganesh Nagar in his Huzurabad Assembly constituency in Karimnagar district on Sunday, Rajender said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was wedded to provide permanent shelter to the poor. The houses would be built on par with those being built in IDH Colony in Bhoiguda in Secunderabad.

Stating that the TRS government would allot and construct 1000 houses in the next phase in the segment, Eatala warned the officials of serious consequences if there were any irregularities in the housing construction activities. The flagship program aims at maintaining quality of the housing facility which will help poor get better shelter, the minister remarked. He also slammed previous governments for constructing sub-standard houses on the outskirts of the villages and towns amid garbage. However, the TRS Government was constructing the houses for the poor in the heart of the towns and cities, Rajender said.

Stating that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was favoring the best housing facility for the poor and the official machinery was pressed into service, he said the houses will be built without any chance for corruption or irregularities. The people should bring to their notice if such maladies come to their notice. He also asked the officials to ensure that the houses are completed on time with quality. (NSS)
