We’ll take on Oppn in Assembly: Talasani

Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said the ruling party was prepared to take on the Opposition criticism during the Legislature monsoon session commencing from September 23.

Talking to mediapersons at Secretariat here on Monday, the minister accused the Opposition parties of trying to create panic among the farmers on suicides. The TRS government, which knows the plight of the farmers, has raised the ex gratia to Rs 6 lakh from a meagre Rs 1.5 lakh, he said. Besides, the Kalyan Lakshmi scheme will be extended to the girls of the deceased farmers and pensions to deserving people and three acres to Dalits and landless.

“We are prepared to inform the House and will run the session for any number of days”, he said. “Let them not disturb the House and listen patiently to our presentation”, he said. He also said welfare schemes were given top priority in the State.

Excoriating the Telugu Desam party for stepping into the Congress shoes of making false criticism on the welfare, irrigation, suicides and other issues, Srinivas Yadav asked the former to mend its ways. He also found fault with the Opposition leaders for seeking funds for development on one hand and criticizing the government on the other for political mileage. (NSS)
