Wheat extends losses on ample stocks

New delhi: Wheat prices fell further by Rs 40 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today on sufficient stocks positions against reduced offtake by flour mills.

However, other grains moved in a narrow range in limited deals and pegged at the last levels.

Traders said ample stocks position on increased supplies against reduced offtake by flour mills mainly kept pressure on wheat prices.

In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) drifted further lower by Rs 40 to Rs 2,100-2,110 per quintal, respectively. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 2,120-2,150 per 90 kg.

Atta flour mills too shed Rs 10 at Rs 1,160-1,170 per 50 kg.
