APCC chief N Raghuveera Reddy said that Congress would felicitate AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu if he succeeds in convincing the Centre grant special category status for the state.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, Raghuveera Reddy said that the Centre was trying to dilute the AP’s demand for special status. He said that the state government should exert pressure on the Centre for the SCS. TD is an alliance partner of the NDA and Chandrababu Naidu should use every forum to put pressure on the Centre on the issue.
He said that the Centre’s financial aid would not suffice the needs of the state and said that only special status would help the state in meeting its needs like creation of new capital city and infrastructure. (INN)
