“I will do ‘Satyagraha’ for allowing non-Muslims in Makkah” – Congress MP Husain

New Delhi/Mumbai: Congress MP from Maharashtra, Husain Dalwai participating in the discussion on ‘Commitment to Constitution’ as part of 125th birth anniversary celebration of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in the Rajya Sabha said that not allowing non-Muslims in Makkah is wrong.

 

According to the report published in Ummid, narrating an incident, Mr. Husain said that one morning he decided to visit Jagannath temple but someone told him that Muslims cannot go there due to which he felt bad and sad. He also said not allowing non-Muslims in Holy Mosque of Makkah is wrong. “I will do ‘Satyagraha’ for allowing non-Muslims in Makkah”, he vowed.

 

After the remark, Muslim political and community leaders cutting across the party lines slammed Husain Dalwai and said that his remarks will provide fodder to communal forces.

 

Meanwhile, Congress MLA Asif Shaikh said that he had sent a letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Maharashtra Congress Chief Ashok Chavan with a demand to sack Mr. Husain from the party.
