Woman attempts suicide at Metro station, rescued

New Delhi: A 20-year-old woman allegedly attempted suicide by jumping on the metro tracks at Netaji Subhash Place station in northwest Delhi today.

No suicide note was recovered from the spot, police said.

The woman, identified as Jyoti, was rushed to a hospital and she is stated to be out-of-danger, police said.

During investigation, it emerged that Jyoti had married a man against the wishes of her family around two years ago.

But the reason why she took the extreme step could not be ascertained yet, the official said.

Last evening, a 35-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving metro train at Rohini East station in outer Delhi.
