Woman brutally raped by ISIS, urged UN to wipe it off

United Nations: Nadia Murad Basee Taha, a Yazidi woman described her agony and rape to United Nations Security Council suffered at their hands.

Nadia, 21, described her torture to 15-member council’s first meeting on human trafficking and pleaded the council to wipe out IS, as per reports published in Reuters.

“Rape was used to destroy women and girls and to guarantee that these women could never lead a normal life again,” said Nadia.
“Islamic State has made Yazidi women into flesh to be trafficked in,” she said of the extremist group in Iraq and Syria.

In August last year, she was abducted from her village in Iraq and was taken to IS stronghold of Mosul, where thousands of Yazidi women were exchange by militants as gifts.

A few days later she was taken by a man, who forced her to dress and did what he wants to. She made an attempt to escape but was stopped by guards.

“He forced me to get dressed and put my make-up on and then that terrible night, he did it. He forced me to serve as part of his military faction, he humiliated me every day,” said Nadia.

“That night he beat me. He asked me to take my clothes off. He put me in a room with the guards and then they proceeded to commit their crime until I fainted,” she said. “I implore you, get rid of Daesh (Islamic State) completely.”

She bravely ended her story “Three months after my abduction, I was finally able to escape. I’m currently living in Germany.”

The members of the U.N. Security Council after listening her story gave a round of applause to her courage.
