Hyderabad: A woman Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector P. Swathi Goud who was facing charges for attacking and assaulting a truck driver and deputing bouncers during checking has been suspended by the Transport Commissioner Mr. Sunil Sharma on Wednesday.
According to sources Swathi was checking the vehicles on Saturday midnight May 20 at Sagar Highway. During the process, she stopped a lorry and conducted checking. Not finding satisfactory details, she called lorry owner Srikanth Reddy. Swathi allegedly assaulted Srikanth Reddy on pretext of interrogation. Her bouncers also allegedly assaulted the lorry owner.
The victim lodged complaint with L.B.Nagar police. Police confirmed the attack based on the CCTV footage available with traffic control room. The video footage which showed Swathi adopting bouncers and attacking the truck driver was flashed in media. Following which higher officials of transport department sprung into action and ordered for a report and enquiry.
Based on the report submitted by the JTC, the Transport Commissioner issued suspension orders on Wednesday.
A case has been registered against Swathi under sections 328 and 504 of IPC.
