Meerut: Tension gripped Brahmpuri area here after the body of a woman chopped into pieces was recovered from two gunny bags this morning, police said.
The body was spotted by the locals who saw blood oozing out of the sacks dumped in the bushes near City Garden close to Aamna Mosque, police said.
Police suspect that the woman was murdered late last night and the body dumped in the bushes by the killer to misguide them.
The body has been sent for post mortem and attempts were on to ascertain her identity, they added.
