Gurgaon : This ‘World Kidney Day,’ Paras Hospital in Gurgaon, has launched its first support group named ‘Utsaah,’ which will be a platform for patients and care-givers of kidney disease to share common problems and experiences associated to it.
The support group was launched by Dr P. N. Gupta, Chief of Nephrology and transplant department of the Paras Hospitals at a gathering of patients and their families today.
Utsaah is a group formed with ‘peers,’ people who all are directly affected by kidney problems.
This group will help patients and care-givers to gain strength to fight their illness. The patients will work as role models for each other. This will also help people to open up about their problems, which will help reduce anxiety and a sense of well-being overall.
Paras hospital, in this regard, has organised events on March 9 and 10, to create a platform for this initiative. (ANI)
