Writers protest hitting BJP badly, says Sandeep Dixit

New Delhi, 0ct.15 : Reacting to the article describing writers protest as manufactured revolt by Finance Minister Arun Jaitely, the Congress party on Thursday said the ongoing writers protest is hitting the BJP and Sangh Parivar very badly.

“I think the Finance Minister has met only paid writers. I am surprised that he doesn’t get time to write and comment on inflation which is his responsibility. Today, Dal is at Rs. 200 per kilo and onion and potatoes are crossing Rs. 100,” Congress leader Sandeep Dixit told ANI here.

He also said, ” Writers are independent thinkers, they are institutionalised by themselves, the literature was an area where they thought had a greater influence,” he added.

He further said that believing that writers have come in a manufactured way to protest is completely false, adding that these are not third rate writers that write Sangh Pariwar’s manufactured books, facts and figures.

The Finance Minister has described the return of Sahitya Akademi awards by several writers following the Dadri lynching incident as a “manufactured paper rebellion” against the government in the wake of a manufactured crises.

In an article “A Manufactured revolt – politics by other means”, released on Wednesday night, Jaitley said with the Congress showing “no sign of revival” and the Left “lacking legislative relevance”, the recipients of “past patronage” were resorting to “politics by other means. (ANI)
