What is wrong in 12 Congress leaders vie for CM post, Harish asked

Taking objection to Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao saying 12 Congress leaders were competing with each other for Chief Minister post, former Khadi Board chairman G Niranjan countered Harish what was wrong in democracy if 12 Congress leaders compete for chief minister post.

In a pressnote here today, Niranjan asked Harish what was his problem if 12 Congress leaders aspiring to become Chief Minister. Niranjan said TRS party was facing leadership problem as there was no person other than KCR for Chief Minister post. The century-old Congress has many leaders suitable for Chief Minister post. Before 1970, there were Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy, Kasu Brahmananda Reddi, Dr Marri Channa Reddy, V B Raju, P V Narasimha Rao and even after 1970 there were several CM aspirants like Dr Channa Reddy, T Anjaiah, PV Narasimha Rao, Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy, Jalagam Vengal Rao, Bhavanam Venkatram, N Janaradhan Reddy, G Venkata Swamy, P Shiv Shankar and others for the Chief Minister post in the Congress.

“Congress has great history”, he remembered. He asked Harish Rao to realize that dictatorial and monarchic attitude was possible only in family-oriented TRS party but it was not possible in democratic Congress party. He advised Harish Rao to concentrate on public issues rather that Congress party’s internal politics. (NSS)
