‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ image shows the villain’s Egyptian tomb

Los Angeles, July 06: A new concept art for “X-Men: Apocalypse” gives a look at Apocalypse’s Egyptian resting place.

The photo teases the villain’s tomb in Egyptian style, which means in this movie, fan favourite villain Apocalypse will wake up to wreak the havoc, reported Ace Showbiz.

The photo features a pyramid in the center which is carved with hieroglyph and ancient ornament. It also shows men breaking into the immortal mutant’s Egyptian resting place.

In the comics, Apocalypse has been alive for millennia but periodically puts himself in suspended animation. People speculate that the men who break into Apocalypse’s tomb wake the lead villain up to give the greatest battle to the titular protagonists.

Director Bryan Singer had previously teased Apocalypse’s arrival on set. He posted a photo of empty chair with the word “Apocalypse” written on it. “Today! #Xmen #apocalypse awakens,” so read the caption in the photo.

The photo may indicate that Oscar Isaac, who portrays Apocalypse, has started filming his scene for the upcoming movie.

“X-Men: Apocalypse” takes place a decade after “X-Men: Days of Future Past” and is a seamless next step in the story. Charles (James McAvoy), Erik/Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Raven/Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Hank/Beast (Nicholas Hoult) are joined by young Cyclops, Storm, Grey and others to fight the awakened enemy. Written by Simon Kinberg, the movie is set for a release in the US on May 27, 2016.
