Hyderabad: A youth duped a teenage girl by stating that he was a businessman and married her after taking huge sum as dowry.
The youth identified as Yaseer Ahmed, 21, also took gold ornaments as part of the dowry from the girl, a resident of Paramount Colony in Shaikpet area.
However, after marriage she realised that Yaseer had already married thrice. She immediately lodged a complaint with the police.
According to police, Yaseer used to stay with his in-laws and later took a rented house but ensured that the girl did not leave the house without his permission or in his absence.
However, sensing his strange behavior, the girl managed to escape and informed her parents who in turn came to the house to question Yaseer but he had already fled from the house.
A case has been registered. Cops have launched a manhunt for the accused.
