Mumbai: A 20 year old student fell to his death while allegedly clicking selfie on Amrutanjan bridge near Khandala Ghat section of Mumbai-Pune expressway. Tanvel Kadam, a third year engineering student of a Lonavla-based college and hailing from Nashik, died on the spot in the incident, police said.
Amol Tambe, superintendent of police (Highways) said “Tanvel lost his balance while he was standing on the Amrutanjan bridge and fell down beside the Pune-Mumbai Expressway. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the incident took place while he was taking a ‘selfie’ on his phone at the bridge.”
Tanvel had recently returned from his native place as his college was scheduled to re-open. Vehicular traffic remained unaffected since the youth did not fall on the actual Expressway route.
