Youth should protect our culture: Talasani

Cinematography Minister Talasani Sriinivas Yadav today stressed the need for encouraging the youth in cultural activities and sports besides a focus on Education for all-round development.

He was addressing youth festival at Boats Club at Secunderabad here on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, the minister stated that the nation was proud to have more than 60 per cent of youth and the State and Central governments are involved in pushing them into a wide gamut of competitions like sports, games and cultural activities at national and international level.

The State Government will sure come up with more schemes to encourage the students and youth to learn and outshine in the cultural, traditional and sports events, he assured. “It is the time for us to encourage our children and youth to learn culture and traditions of dance, music, and other activities and transform them to posterity”, he said. “NRIs staying in the US, Europe and other nations are playing key role in protecting our culture and traditions while those in the country are being attracted to foreign culture”, he said.

“At this crucial juncture, it is better to encourage our children learn and compete in classical music and dances such as Carnatic, Hindustani, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Bharathanatyam, Tabala, Veena, Mridangam and other instruments”, the minister said. “We have to conduct competitions in these events and tap the latent talent among our youth”, Srinivas Yadav stated.
