YSRCP MLA Chand Pasha joins TDP

Hyderabad: The YSR Congress Party received another jolt on Saturday when its MLA from Kadiri Assembly segment in Anantapur Ather Chand Basha joined the ruling Telugu Desam Party.

Chand Basha is the 13th MLA of YSRCP who joined the ruling TDP during the last two years.

Chand Basha called on Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in Vijayawada on Saturday and joined the TDP along with his hundreds of supporters. Naidu welcomed him into the party by offering a ‘khandwa’. Speaking on the occasion, Naidu said that the residuary State was facing several problems since the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. However, he said that the TDP Government has been working hard to develop the State. He announced that on Chand Basha’s request, he was sanctioning an Outer Ring Road in Kadri.

Chand Basha said Naidu was quite serious with regard to development of minorities in the State and that was the main reason why he joined the TDP.

Ministers P. Sunitha and Palle Raghunath Reddy and other leaders were also present. (INN)
