Zero tolerance against indiscipline in party: Amarinder

Gurdaspur: Hinting stern action against party activists indulging in anti-party activities, Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh today said there will be zero tolerance against such acts and those found guilty will be strictly dealt with by the high command.

He said the party high command was already seized of the matter about certain leaders trying to create confusion and demoralise the party cadres in poll-bound Punjab.

Talking to reporters during the sidelines of the workers meeting of the Gurdaspur district here, Amarinder said the Congress party will announce the ticket six months ahead of the Assembly elections.

He said the party had decided in Jaipur session that tickets will be allotted six months in advance to provide sufficient time to the candidates for canvassing and campaigning.

Addressing the workers, the former chief minister congratulated them for their strong resolve in facing and fighting the Akali “excesses” all these years.

He said Gurdaspur area was the worst hit due to the political vendetta resorted to by the Akalis.

He said, he had already promised to cancel all the false FIRs against the Congress workers on the same day of forming the government, if voted to power.
