11 buildings in Charminar zone razed, drive to continue

Hyderabad: As part of Monsoon Action Plan, special drive for the demolition of dilapidated structures has been taken up from June 11, 2019, by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). So far 162 number of dilapidated structures have been demolished, 26 number of structures are seized and 12 number of structures are repaired. The special drive is continued, said Dana Kishore.

On Tuesday the civic body officials have demolished 11 dilapidated structures in Charminar Zone, one structure has been vacated and seized in Kukatpally circle.

Municipal Corporation official informed that during this year 2019, 331 dilapidates structures have been newly identified in addition to the balance 435 number carried forward from last year, total 766 dilapidated structures in which 191 structures have been demolished and 133 structures are repaired or vacated. Action in balance 442 of dilapidated structures.

The special drive for the demolition of dilapidated structures is proposed to be continued till the balance structures are demolished or got repaired by the occupants, said a senior official from GHMC.

Moreover, the GHMC officials say we are counselling the inmates to vacate the dilapidated structure for human safety and barricade around the buildings in case of most dangerous cautioning public not move around the structure.

GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore appealed to the owners, tenants and living in dangerous dilapidated structure and demolition of the structures in order to safeguard human lives.
