15 UG students exempted from exam after testing COVID positive

Hyderabad: At least 15 students who attempted to write their undergraduate (UG) final semester exam at Nizam college were sent back as they tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) on Thursday. Over 800 students appeared at the institution  college to write the UG final semester examination.

According to sources, students were called one hour before the exam at the exam centre and the college management had conducted a rapid test for COVID-19 on students who were about to write the exam.

Kota Srinivas, President of Telangana Vidhyarti Sangham, a student union of Osmania University, said, “Students who were in hostels were also called two days before the exam and they were tested for COVID-19.  On Thursday all the students were tested for the virus and 15 students tested positive for COVID-19 at the Nizam college in Basheerbagh”.

Srinivas added that the students were not to allowed to appear for exam and that they were asked to self-quarantine themselves and that they would be allowed to appear for their exams later.
