2 CRPF personnel killed and 3 injured in Pulwama militant attack

Pulwama: Two CRPF personnel were killed and three were injured in the Pulwama attack today afternoon when militants indiscriminately opened fire on the ROP (road opening party) which was deployed for the safe movement of the vehicle on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.

According to the Kashmir Zone IGP, Vijay Kumar, the ROP came under attack after two militants who came on a bike and opened fire on the CRPF personnel deployed there. This resulted in injuries to five CRPF personnel. Two of them who later succumbed to their injuries have been identified by police as constables Shalinder Pratap Singh and Devendra Kumar Tripathi.

“We have identified the militants who belong to LeT outfit and will neutralize them soon,” said IGP Vijay Kumar to the media while giving the details of the incident.
