2 women to undergo rigorous imprisonment for selling newborn

Hyderabad: Two women have been sentenced by a court in LB Nagar to 3 years of rigorous imprisonment for selling and buying a newborn baby boy. Each of them was also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh by the Court.

As reported by Telangana Today, B Laxmi and P Renuka were arrested in 2016, for taking a child who was born to a minor girl at a private hospital and selling the infant for Rs 40,000. They were booked under relevant sections of the Juvenile Justice Act at Meerpet police station, following which they were arrested and remanded in judicial custody.
