24 killed in twin bomb blasts in Syria

Idlib [Syria]: At least 24 people, including four children, were killed in a double bomb attack in Syria’s Idlib province on Monday.

According to the NHK, the two explosions occurred in central Idlib in northwestern Syria. The first blast was caused by an explosive device planted in a vehicle. Another bomb detonated when ambulances were arriving at the spot.

The group responsible for the attack is yet to be ascertained.

Idlib is the last major stronghold of Syria’s opposition force. In order to gain control, President Bashar al-Assad has also bombarded areas around Idlib, resulting in an increasing number of civilian casualties over the past few months.
