4 held for black marketing anti black fungal drugs

Hyderabad: The sleuths of Commissioner’s Task force on Monday nabbed four persons for indulging in black marketing of Antiviral medicine for Black fungal infection to Covid-19 patients.

According to the police, Amphotericin B liposome injection is being used to treat for black fungal infections among the COVID-19 patients.

Due to the drug demand, it leads to shortage of the drug to treat Black Fungal treatment.

Due to its high demand, it is not easily available in the market. During the the Covid-19 pandemic situation the demand for the Amphotericin B Liposome injection” has increased. It is normally does not cost more than Rs. 7,858/- ( MRP), depending on manufacturer.

Accused persons hatched a plan to earn easy money by illegally procuring the Amphotericin B liposome injection in low price thorough known sources or medical staff and selling the same on high price in black market without any valid documents to customers and gain easy money illegally.

Narimalla Yadaiah ( main drug supplier) illegally procured about (05) Amphotericin B liposome injection (AMFIGHT) of Celon Labs and came into contact with his colleagues /Pharmacy employees by name, Peddoch Satish , Kakkirala Sai Kumar & , Buddareddygari Rajashekar Reddy and they have set a deal with a customer for selling the same on high price for Rs. 50,000/- each vial and trying to deliver the same.

The task force police laid a trap and arrested the accused persons and recovered the anti viral drugs from their possession.
