40 Muslims clear UPSC exam; 18 of Zakat Foundation, 7 of Hamdard crack it

New Delhi: Union Public Service Commission has announced civil services final examination 2018. Kanishak Kataria has topped the Civil Services Examination, 2018. Akshat Jain came 2nd and Junaid Ahmad came 3rd.

Nearly 40 Muslims have figured in the list. Junaid Ahmad hails from Nageena town of Uttar Pradesh. He belongs to a middle-class family. He completed his UPSC Civil Services coaching from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. Abdul Shahid ranked below hundred by securing 57th rank.

Srushti Jayant Deshmukh top among women candidates who secured overall fifth rank. 577 men and 182 women cracked the exam who have been recommended by the Commission for appointment to various services like IAS, IPS, IFS, etc.

Though the number of Muslim candidates who cracked the exams has dropped compared to last year, the percentage, however, remains the same. 18 candidates who took coaching from Zakat Foundation of India passed the exam, while 7 candidates who completed coaching from Jamia Hamdard cracked the exams.
