Hyderabad: A 70-year-old senior citizen was arrested for attempting to rape a mentally unstable minor girl in Andhra Pradesh’s Anantpur District.
The accused was caught red-handed by the locals in the region, TN reports.
The locals caught the elderly man red-handed for attempting sexual abuse on the minor girl.
The accused was thrashed before the cops arrived at the crime scene.
The elderly accused have been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Meanwhile, the minor has been shifted to hospital and is undergoing treatment.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
