AAP Minority Wing meets Imam who was beaten up for not saying ‘Jai Sri Ram’

New Delhi: A delegation of Aam Aadmi Party visited Imam who was mob lynched for not saying Jai Sri Ram at his residence in Rohini. The delegation was led by Vice President F I Ismaili. He was accompanied by legal experts to provide legal assistance to the Imam.

Ismaili told that police have booked the accused under mild sections which are very weak. Instead, it should have booked them under section307 and 323.

Ismaili and Mohammed Shadab demanded that the government take strict action against the accused so that such incidents are not repeated in future.

On June 20, at about 8 pm an Imam was called by the occupants of a white car. When he went there, three men inside the car asked him to say Jai Sri Ram. He, however, ignored and moved on after which they hit him. They also verbally abused him and hit him with their car, resulting in Imam’s injury.
