‘Ab Hoga NYAY’: Congress launches campaign song penned by Javed Akhtar

NEW DELHI: The Congress on Sunday formally launched a new election tagline and a new campaign song for this year’s Lok Sabha elections.

Noted Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar has penned the theme song Ab Hoga NYAY and the sixty seconds campaign video has been filmed by Nikkhil Advani, said senior Congress leader Anand Sharma.

The song highlights the party’s proposed minimum income guarantee”NYAY” scheme and also mentions the job situation, farmers’ issues, demonetisation, women’s security and GST, among other things, reported ANI.

The slogan is — “Ab hoga NYAY”. Congress in its manifesto has promised to give Rs 72,000 per year to the 20 per cent of India’s poorest under its NYAY scheme, if his party comes to power.

Party chief Rahul Gandhi had said: “I agree that Nyay is not doable, but by the BJP. For the Congress it is possible and we will show them how it is done. The BJP said farm loan waivers cannot be done, but we showed it by doing so in states.”

The Lok Sabha polls will start on April 11 and will end on May 19. Counting of votes will take place on May 23.
