‘After ALLAH you are our last hope’: Pakistanis to Sushma Swaraj

NEW DELHI: Known as an easily-accessible foreign minister, BJP leader Sushma Swaraj was passed away on Tuesday at the age of 67.

The seven-time MP and three-time MLA passed away on August 6th, after suffering from a cardiac arrest.

The people’s politician gained widespread praise for using social media to come to the rescue of many Indians in any part of the world.

She not only come to help Indians in distress but left no stones unturned to help neighbouring Pakistani nationals seeking help to get an Indian visa for various medical reasons.

One such case was of Shahzaib Iqbal from Lahore. 

In 2017, as per India Today reports, Shahzaib Iqbal tweeted, “After ALLAH you are our last hope.. kindly allow islamabad embassy (meaning Indian High Commission) to issue us medical visa.”

In response, Swaraj had tweeted, “India will not belie your hope. We will issue the visa immediately.”

Another Pakistani resident, Sajida Bibi in the same year approached the minister seeking an Indian medical Visa.

She wrote, “Sushma Swaraj, me sajida bibi under went liver transplant in medenta hospital haryana two year back now developed complications i need urgent follow up i applied already for visa kindly issue my visa it humble request to you.”

Quick came the response from the minister. She wrote, “Yes. We will give you the medical visa.”

Moving ahead, Hira Shiraz, a Pakistani native who approaced the former Foreign Minister to help her with an Indian Visa for her daughter’s open-heart surgery.

Sushma Swaraj responded, “We are giving visa for the open heart surgery of your one year old daughter Shireen Shiraz in India.”

A Stalwart, A Gem

Not just India weep today for losing a stalwart, a gem, but people from Pakistan too join has joined in mourning. 

She was indeed a ‘messiah’ for everyone as she left no stones unturned to help people in distress, across borders and nationalities.

Impressed Fan and Critics

Not just Pakistanis. She, in 2015 also help a Yemeni woman who was married to an Indian.

Her humanitarian aid had impressed her fans and critics from political counterparts, both national and international.
