After Imams and muezzins Delhi govt. to announce sops for Urdu lovers

New Delhi: The Delhi government has decided to increase the number of learning centres to promote the Urdu language. Planning to take its literature to the common man the government has also decided to translate the historical works into English and Hindi.

After hiking the salary of imam and muezzins, the government has deiced to increase the scholarship amount given to Urdu toppers and revise the honorarium paid to Urdu writers and poets engaged by the Urdu Academy.

According to Times of India, a senior official requesting anonymity said that the government has decided to increase the number of Urdu learning centres which run one-year diploma courses in the language from eight to 50.
