After Samjhauta, Pakistan suspends Thar Express

In reaction to the Narendra Modi government’s decision to scrap special status to Jammu and Kashmir by making Article 370 inoperative in the state, Pakistan announced to suspend another train service from India.

India Today quoted Pakistan Minister for Railways, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad as saying, “We have decided to shut down the Thar Express as well.” Thar Express services (Jodhpur-Karachi) is a weekly train that runs between Munabo in Barmer district of Rajasthan and Khokrapar in Pakistan.

Rashid added, “As long as I am railways minister, no train will operate between Pakistan and India.”
