Agricultural Minister reviews on markets, procurement

Hyderabad: Agriculture and cooperative Minister S Niranjan Reddy today directed officials concerned to shift Gaddi Annaram market to Koheda market yard and take steps to procure farm produce on time. He held a review meeting with officials and said that awareness should be created among farmers on marketing and e-nam. Make timely payments to the farmers by procuring their farm produce he said.

The minister said to bring Damargidda market under Narayanpet purview, shift Malakpet market to Pathancheruvu and speed up market yard works in Wanaparty, besides completing e-nam payment integration slips. Niranjan Reddy instructed to speed up process to procure farm produce keeping rainy season in view. He said that warehousing department has earned Rs 26.74 cr benefit during 2017-18. Of this the corporation gave Rs 1.75 cr to the government and the minister announced 50 per cent dividend of Rs 3 cr. State warehousing corporation chairman M Samuel gave a cheque to the minister in this regard. The minister said to take steps to an urge by Samuel to recruit 50 members for their wing.

On ISTA-2019 international conference the minister appreciated agriculture Principal secretary Partha sarathi and officials for success of the event.
