Ahead of New Year celebration parties addicts search for drugs

Hyderabad: The Malkajgiri Zone’s Special Operation Team (SOT) and Kushuaiguda police under the Rachakonda Commissionerate busted an interested drug racket on Thursday. The police arrested three people on the charges of obtaining drugs from Maharashtra and transporting such substances to Hyderabad.

The accused have been identified as Rajesh Parmeshwar Jamades (32) Anil Vaidhyanath Bhosle (31) — both of them are the residents of Jamkhed, Maharashtra — and Badavath Kishan (35) who resides in Mahaboobabad district, Telangana.

Ahead of New Year celebrations, the demand for various narcotics substances rises and suppliers from other states try to smuggle it to cities. Some of the people even tried to do so here Hyderabad but were caught red-handed by the police.

Akshitha K. Murthy, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Malkajgiri Zone said, “Kishan is in contact with different drug peddlers across the country and he is the major source for others here in Telangana. He indulges in the procurement, supply, and sale of drugs.” He added, “In view of New Year celebration parties some people search for drug peddlers. He got in touch with a buyer in the city who agreed to purchase drugs and asked Kishan to arrange immediately.”

 J. Surender Reddy, Addl. DCP SOT mentioned that Kishan receives drugs from Rajesh who runs the same illegal business in Maharashtra and the main source of these two is Shabbir, who operates the entire channel of supply of all kinds of narcotics like Cocaine, Heroin, MDMA, and Ganja from Rajasthan. He said, “The drug racket was charging Rs. 10,000 for each gram of heroin as well as cocaine and Rs.6000 per kilogram of ganja.”

With an aim to sell the drugs during New Year celebration parties, Rajesh, Anil and Kishan came to Hyderabad carrying drugs. Today the personnel of SOT and Kushaiguda raided the Thirumala lodge and found 150 grams of Heroin, two kilograms of ganja packets, one car, four mobiles, and Rs. 15 lakh in net cash.
