App to be used in municipal elections for face identification

Hyderabad:  For the first time in the country, a unique experiment is being conducted in the local bodies’ elections to be held on 22^nd January.

As a pilot project, App will be used at 10 selected polling stations in Kompally, Medchal and Malkajigiri.

This step is being taken to eradicate impersonation. In the press noted issued by the Govt., it has been mentioned that if App shows negative result, the voter won’t be stopped from exercising his vote.

It may be mentioned that in T.S. polling is being held on 22 January in 120 Municipalities and a municipal corporation.

The results of the polling will be declared on 25^th January. However, in Karimnagar polling will be held on 25^th January and its results would be announced on 27^th January.
