Araria: 55-year-old Kabul Miyan mercilessly lynched

ARARIA: A 55-year-old Muslim man was lynched to death by a mob on allegations of stealing a cow.

According to media reports, the incident of brutal assault took place in Simarbani village of Araria district on December 29 came to light when the video of it went viral.

In a viral video shot by attackers on their mobile phones Kabul Miyan, the former village head, was mercilessly kicked in the face, bashed him with sticks and repeatedly called chor (thief).

The mob of around 300 people led by a man identified as Mohammed Muslim, reportedly accused Kabul for stealing a cow. The preparatory even removed his pants and continued attacking him with sticks and stones till he breathed his last.

The profusely bleeding Kabul in his broken voice, pleading innocence to the crowd but his cries fell on deaf ears.

Police got to know about the incident two days later the video went viral. FIR has been lodged against “unknown persons.” So far, not a single person has been arrested.

Over the past few months, incidents of mob lynchings have been witnessed in various parts of Bihar.
