Health Minister Etela Rajender has made it clear that the state government has Rs 600 crore pending bills only in regard to Aarogyasri Services. He said that that he has to discuss with the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to take a decision on the enhancement of charges of surgeries and medicine. He further said that the government will release Rs 200 crore very soon to the Network hospitals of Aarogyasri Services.

Etela Rajender held discussions with the representatives of the Network hospitals of Aarogyasri on Friday at Arogyasri Trust Bhavan located at Jubilee Hills. After the discussions, Network Hospitals Union representative Rakesh said “the state government is stating that the pending bills are only Rs 600 crore. But the pending bills are Rs 1500 crore.
The government has released only Rs 300 crore as of now. Each hospital has got only 20 percent funds. The state government informed that it wil release the remaining pending bills in the month of September. The government informed that it will announce its decision on package revision very soon. Discussions are not yet completed. We continue stopping the services under Aarogyasri, said Dr. V Rakesh, President of TANHA.
Private hospitals stopped Arogyasri, Employees Health Scheme and Journalists Health Scheme services from Friday morning as announced earlier. About 240 private hospitals stopped services under these three schemes protesting against the government for not releasing pending bills of Arogyasri. The network hospitals have stated in a statement that they will not resume the services till the government clears the pending bills.
The Network hospitals representatives held a meeting at Basavatarakam Cancer hospital to discuss on the problems of Network hospitals and their demands on Friday. Later, they kept their demands before the Health Minister Etela Rajender. The Network hospitals representatives asked the Minister to clear the pending bills immediately. They also asked the Minister to include the Aarogyasri Bill in green channel. They also asked the government to amend the Arogyasri MOU, which was done in 2007, in tune with the present conditions. They also demanded the government to increase the charges for the surgeries and medicine.
