Hyderabad: Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi, President of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and Hyderabad MP disclosed the reason for his stand against the Citizenship Amendment Act 2019.
CAA aims to convert India into Hindu Rashtra: Owaisi
During the address at Sangareddy town, Owaisi said that he is not against granting citizenship to the persecuted people from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. However, it should not be done on the basis of religion. He further alleged that CAA aims to turn India into a Hindu Rashtra.
Owaisi also made an announcement that a massive rally against CAA will be organized on January 10. On January 25 midnight, he will unfurl the national flag at historic Charminar.
Anti-CAA protests
It may be mentioned that ever since CAB became CAA, protests are taking place across the country. Yesterday, in Hyderabad, million march took place wherein thousands of people participated.
It seems that protests intensified in Hyderabad after the Central Government decided to conduct NPR. Many political parties alleged that the exercise is the first step towards NRC.
