Ashwini Kumar Choubey hauls up SDM for stopping him from doing ‘Chowkidari’

Buxar (Bihar): Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey on Sunday rapped Sub District Magistrate (SDM) KK Upadhyay for stopping him from doing “chowkidari”.

“I abide by the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), as I’m not the kind of guy who goes against the rules. But, I would like to mention that these people are stopping me from doing ‘Chowkidari’. I will keep on raising my voice against them,” said Choubey, referring to a verbal altercation he had with the Sub District Magistrate after the officer stopped his convoy for allegedly violating the model code of conduct (MCC) on March 30.

In a video of the incident, Choubey sitting on the front seat of a vehicle could be seen furiously reacting to the official who attempted to apprise the Union Minister about the Election Commission’s order.

Speaking to media persons, SDM KK Upadhyay said that action will be initiated as per the provisions of law.
“There was no permission for vehicles but it has been reported that there were many vehicles parked here at Zila Maidan. There were about 30-40 vehicles in the convoy and action will be taken over it,” he said. “His language is his concern. The case will be registered for every vehicle that was in the convoy,’ added Upadhyay.

Union minister Choubey is the sitting Member of Parliamentarian from Buxar and has again fielded by BJP from the same constituency for the Lok Sabha elections 2019.
