Assam: 14-ft-long King Cobra rescued from Nagaon

Nagaon: A 14-feet-long King cobra, spotted by locals in Jiajuri Tea Estate area, was rescued and taken back to the ‘jungle’ on Friday.

The huge poisonous snake was first spotted by tea garden workers in the wee hours on Friday. As the news spread, there was panic all around, said, locals.

Instead of deciding to kill the snake, they reached out to snake rescuers to save the reptile.

“Binod ‘Dulu’ Borah, a snake rescuer, reached the spot and rescued the cobra. He later released it in the Suwang Reserve Forest nearby,” said Deben Tanti, a villager.
