Benched by BJP, Murli Manohar Joshi writes open letter to Kanpur voters

Former BJP President and former Union Minister Murli Manohar Joshi showed his resistance and resentment against BJP. In an open letter to his constituents in Kanpur, he revealed that he was asked not to contest elections.

According to the Hindu, Joshi wrote in his letter, “Dear voters of Kanpur, Shri Ramlal, General Secretary (Organisation), Bharatiya Janata Party conveyed to me today that I should not contest the ensuing parliamentary election from Kanpur and elsewhere.”

Another veteran leader LK Advani was similarly benched by the BJP. The party replaced him in Gandhinagar by the party President Amit Shah.
