BJP calls for boycott of Deepika’s movies after she visits JNU

New Delhi: After Deepika Padukone joined students protesting against the recent violence on the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus, BJP Spokesperson, Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga called for the boycott of her movies. He tweeted, “RT if you will Boycott Movies of @deepikapadukone for her Support to #TukdeTukdeGang and Afzal Gang”.

It is very surprising that the party’s spokesperson expressed views against Deepika just because the actress stood with the victims of the brutal violence that took place in the university.

It may be mentioned that several Bollywood celebrities have condemned the violence.

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and lyricist Vishal Dadlani joined the protests organized by students at the Gateway of India, Mumbai against JNU attack.

While Kashyap said that he was at the protest site to show his solidarity with the students and blamed the government for the attacks in JNU campus, Dadlani said that he was there in support of a secular India.
