Hyderabad: DR. K. Hari prasad president Hospitals Division Apollo Group of Hospitals said that no country in the World will have resources to treat illness and India is no different.
Based on this fact our Chairman, Dr. Prathap C Reddy has been emphasizing the need to move from illness to wellness. This budget has a number of measures which will reduce illness and promote wellness in the community. Some of these include Open defecation free India . Clean fuel for cooking Emphasis on electric vehicles Clean drinking water Promotion of Yoga Khelo India initiative all these will contribute to the Governments vision of HEALTHY INDIA in a decade.
In addition some of the initiatives announced by the Union Finance Minister that will hopefully benefit the Health sector are he said that the rental laws will help the health sector , a number of healthcare facilities are in rented premises and rationalization of the rental laws will benefit the health sector Land costs are significant and impact financials of a healthcare facility. Co-development of healthcare infrastructure in Central Government and PSU land parcels could stimulate significant growth in healthcare facilities. VISA for patients travelling to India is a critical concern. With the opening up of new embassies in different countries, it will add to medical value travel to India
A double digit increase in allotment for Health in the budget could have been better but the fact that there is a significant increase in allocation towards Ayushman Bharat will help the country move towards ‘Health for all’.
