CBSE Practical Exam 2020: Details on important changes

NewDelhiThe Central Board of Secondary Education Examinations for classes 10 and 12 will now have two parts: Practical and Theory.

The CBSE shall have a practical assessment and the main or theory paper.

Here’s a look at the CBSE Board Exam 2020 Practical papers’ date sheet, changes in paper and assessment pattern according to sources:

The CBSE is likely to conduct the board practical examinations from the month of December 2019 itself and the practical exam 2020 date sheer would be provided by the respective schools, TN reports.

For Class 10 students, subjects like Maths, Science, etc. will have a break up of 80+20 marks.

The 20 marks or practical marks would be termed under internal assessment.

For Class 12, there are two types of break ups – the subjects with 70+30 break up and the subjects with 80+20 break up.

External examiners would be appointed to conduct the practical exams at the respective schools for the 70+30 breakup.

For the 80+20 break up subjects, the assessment was done externally until last year. The board has not yet decided whether the external examiners would be appointed or would the subjects be assessed internally.

The proposed changes are still awaited from the CBSE and would be updated on the official page soon.
