Census of India begins in April next year, MHA issues orders

Hyderabad: Census of India will start in April 2020. This time, the questionnaire will contain 34 questions which include details about TV, DTH, Cable connection, the number of mobile phones, internet connection and other details.

According to the authentic sources, Census will be conducted in all the States and Union Territories except Assam. For this purpose, 31 lakh enumerators would be employed. Census operation will continue for more than a year.

This Census will be the most elaborate one done so far.

Ministry of Home Affairs issued instructions for conducting Census.

It may be mentioned that in India, the Census is conducted every 10 years. This time, the details about owned houses, rental houses, Aadhaar cards etc., would be entered.

It is reported that preliminary figures of the population would be released in April 2021 in which the details of men, women and children would be disclosed.

Later, the details of religion and caste would be released.

It is also reported that the details collected in the Census will be made use for the finalization of entries to be made in the National Register of Citizens (NRC). This time, the latest technology would be deployed for collecting details.
