Chilkur Balaji Temple suspends prayers over vet’s rape-murder

Hyderabad: All these efforts seem to have been eclipsed by the unending rapes in the country. Just like the temple is closed during eclipse, we closed the temple for Darshanam and Pradakshinas in a symbolic way for 20 min states Head Priest of Chilkur Balaji Temple, Ranga Rajan.

Devotees walked out along with the Archakas and performed one Mahapradakshinam. A prayer to make the lives of women and girls safe in this country here on Saturday.

Chilkur Temple has been trying to sensitize the men and boys to behave responsively and responsibly through launch of Jatayu sena, said Mr. Rajan.

Angry at the Society not protecting a lonely girl standing and crying on the phone for nearly 1 hour near the toll plaza. Mr. Rajan believes that the story would have been different if at least one person would have got out from his car and enquired at the cause for her weeping. Indian Society has failed the women and girls in providing safety to them.
