Communal violence flares up in Bhainsa, Net services suspended

Bhainsa [TS]: In a rare action the Police in erstwhile Adilabad suspended Internet services this morning following the flare up of communal violence in Bhainsa town.

The district had witnessed communal violence yesterday.  But it was said to have returned with more ferocity today.

Vishnu S, Superintendent of Police, Adilabad district, confirmed that due to violence, the internet services have been shut down throughout the district. He didn’t say when the internet would be restored.  

On Sunday night, some miscreants belonging to the majority community damaged some property. They also burnt down a few motorcycles.

Stone pelting

According to report reaching from Adilabad, a minority man was returning home after attending a Tableeghi Ijtema (Congregation of preachers) in Nirmal. On his way, he was intercepted and an attempt was made to attack him. But following the intervention of the local residents, the matter subsided. However, after some time, youths belonging to the majority community came out of Korba Galli, an area located behind Masjid-e-Mominaan and started pelting stones on the houses belonging to minority community.

At the time of stone pelting most of the male members had gone to Nirmal to attend the ‘Ijtema’.  

 

Police reach spot

Mr. Narsing Rao, DSP, Mr. Venugopal, Circle Inspector of Police, reached the spot with police force. The force also came under stone pelting attack. Town Circle Inspector Venugopal and and a few other policemen were injured in the attack.

Later, Mr. Shashidhar Raju, SP of Nirmal also reached the spot.

It is reported that Mohammed Ayaz, Shaik Shamlaan and a few others were injured in the stone pelting. They were shifted to the local government hospital.

The residents complained that the police reached the scene of violence late by two hours.

According to another report, a house located at Naal Saheb locality was set ablaze.
