Cong leader Hanumantha Rao: Dalit rape victim accused must be hanged

Hyderabad:  Senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao, on Monday met  19-year-old girl resident of Moinabad, who committed suicide due to harassment of the house owner. Anger prevailed among the locals over the incident. Local political leaders also came in support of Nazia.

Hanumath Rao on Monday handed over Rs 10,000 to the family of the victim and said that the Telangana government must take up a serious action against the accused. He must be hanged

Furthermore, the Congress minorities cell city wing chairman Sameer Waliullah along with TPCC spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin among others met the family members of the victim at their residence in Moinabad on Sunday.

However, the police are trying to show the girl’s death as a suicide. The girl, 18, was found murdered on September 25 under Moinabad police limits.

Stating that some of the ruling party leaders are allegedly exerting pressure on the local police to hush up the case, the Congress members demanded that the state government constitute an SIT to probe into the case in a fair manner.
