Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat on Friday inaugurated an Audio Visual van, Command Control van and Gym at CAR Headquarters in Amberpet.
Commissioner stated that in pursuance to the vision of Woman Safety and Road Safety of Telangana Police for the year 2020 and as awareness among the public, an old vehicle has been refurbished into an AV van with a cost of Rs. 15 Lakhs.
The AV van has a LED screen on which awareness videos will be displayed. On the other two sides of the van, posters will also be shown. The van also has an audio system that can be utilized to address the public. The AV van will serve the cause of awareness on woman safety, road safety, and Cyber Crimes in the city.
Besides these, the van will also be used for crime prevention and to deal with law and order situations where issues warrant communication with the public. The van will move across the Commissionerate, placed at junctions, and public spheres which will spread awareness. The van will be operated by special wings during their programs.
Similarly, a command control van issued by the Police IT&C department to the Commissionerate was also inaugurated by the Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat. With the facility to install repeaters, VHF sets and a surveillance camera with the screen, the van is a significant addition in improving communication and surveillance capabilities during band busts. The mobility factor adds to the utility.
Further, the old gym has been renovated and equipped with the latest in the market with the cost of Rs. 15 lakh.
