Hyderabad: The State Council of Communist party of India (CPI) has expelled Hyderabad city Executive member Pulijala Gelvayya from the party primary membership and also from the state council.
This was announced in a press note here today by CPI state secretary Chada Venkata Reddy. Reddy said that the action was taken against Gelvayya as he was indulging in the forcible collection from some organizations and individuals and other economic offenses, violating the party discipline.
Venkata Reddy said that some false propaganda is going on in the social media that the party has given a call for observing Independence Day, August 15, as a ‘black day’. There was no truth in it and the party has not taken any such decision, he said adding that as in the earlier years, the party would celebrate Independence day at all offices of the party and at several other places.
